Community Partners encourage men to make women’s safety a man’s issue too. They bring the White Ribbon movement into their daily lives to reduce violence against women through their everyday activities and interactions in their community.
Community Partners also see opportunities to educate and partner with men about ways they can make a real difference to stop violence against women. This involves raising awareness and speaking out against all forms of violence against women, as well as being actively involved in leading community responses that promote women’s safety and wellbeing.
They are activists who organise and speak at community events, campaign at national and local levels for widespread change, engage and educate their peers, and challenge sexism in everyday life.
White Ribbon Australia’s Community Partners are volunteers that come from all over Australia. They have a range of backgrounds, skills and knowledge and engage in individual action, strengthening communities and creating lasting positive change.
Our Community Partners are required to commit to a code of conduct and demonstrate the values of the movement.
White Ribbon Australia is currently reviewing the roles of Community Partners. This includes consultation and planning to identify the purpose, responsibilities and actions that best promote community engagement in eliminating gendered violence.
